Wow, am I stoked. I found a 7th cousin, twice removed to join the project! If his DNA matches the others in this group, it will prove research which spans almost 400 years, back to Richard Norman, Jr., b. ca. 1623.

The test kit has been ordered, and if he returns it right away, we should have results in mid-April. I'm not sure I can wait til then!

Another Norman branch?

A few months ago I entered my Y-DNA results in Ancestry.com DNA database and I got a closely matching result. I matched 100% of 44 DYS Markers tested by another Norman that appears not to be part of this project.

All the information I can gather is his name is CHARLES ALLEN NORMAN he did the Y-44 DNA test through Ancestry testing partner and he is a member of "Davis" group, a private family group on myfamily.com. I've made a few attempts to contact him through Ancestry's email system and I've made several attempts to join the "Davis" group. I was hoping to at least get an inquiry from it's administrator. So far, no luck.

Does anybody have any information about CHARLES ALLEN NORMAN or have any suggestions of next steps to take?
